I’m Ashlynne
This is me most of the time. Bare faced and at home. LOL. But I am not always in a dress. Sure It’s fun to look cute on occasion, and I agree with many, that dressing cute at home makes a mama feel good. However, most days you’ll find me in sweats when at home. And I am totally okay with that.
I’m a busy mama (aren’t we all?) of two wild boys and more to come *God willing*. I am married to my husband whom I met while I was a junior in High School and he had just graduated.
WHY I STARTED THIS BLOG
Life has definitely had it’s ups and downs. We went from booming careers and owning our first home, to me working part-time after our first born, hubby working less hours which resulted in less pay, selling our house and then renting an old double wide for 2 long years waiting for our next house to come along.
We are just your normal family, living a normal life. But our goal since having our kids has been to slow life down, enjoy our family time, learn new skills, and bask our blessings.
If you’ve already read my blog, you’ll notice I am pretty multi-passionate. It’s hard for me to just choose one thing to chat with y’all about. But some main things I am really passionate about are motherhood (mothering yourself & your babies), natural health, & making sourdough *the wrong way*. And well, that’s the main reason I started this blog.
Before I was a mom, I enjoyed working. Well creating. I worked in marketing as a social media manager. I loved the creating aspect of my job, but I wanted to create content around what I love. Not for someone else’s brand. So now, 3 years after having my first born, I am here finally living out my dream of creating content around what I enjoy. With no one to tell me not to!
LET’S GET PERSONAL
- Indiana born and raised. I’ll probably never leave even though I hate the weather.
- I can’t wink to save my life
- I’m dessert obsessed and it’s honestly the hardest thing for me to control
- I don’t have just one style. One day I’m rocking jeans, the next my dad is calling me “Laura Ingles” with my hair in braids and a floral dress on.
- I’m a dreamer, I have such big ideas but putting practical steps in place to get there stops me almost every time. AKA: My homesteading dreams LOL
- I’m an old soul at heart. I love The Beatles, I love old books just to look at, I love a good dark academia decor vibe, I love old houses, and honestly, I can’t wait to be a grandma.
- I’m a collector of books I’ll never read until my kids are all out of the house and even then, it’s a maybe.
- I learned to make sourdough the right way *aka the way all the gurus tell you to*. But I realized I don’t have time to babysit my starter or my dough so I made a way to make sourdough the *wrong way* and it works fantastically for my busy mom life!
